Personally I'd prefer someone that has lived and learned and contributed to Canada most of his life. Not some opportunist interested only in adding to his CV.

...not to mention a person that is ONLY a Canadian citizen and not another with a dual-allegiance, as in this case an American citizen also.

I have no problem with an ex-pat coming back to Canada to run for office.
What I do have a problem with is the insinuation that if he doesn't win and become Prime Minister, then he's outta here.
