Funny how people especially here have gone for the ride least we make it ourselves. We always seem to think we have to get it from them after all why have our own . Jobs and all .
Nice post, Yankee. If you're going to pretend to be Canadian you should learn how to spell words like "favour" properly.

you mean like "favour" and "colour" and "behaviour"? Very Happy

All of which...my Canadian computer tells me are misspelled? Very Happy.

To be fair there Mr. "Tolerant" Canadian...I was speaking as an "American" in that post...so it was appropriate for me to spell the words the way I did. If you read other posts of mine, where I use those same words...I typically do add the "u".
Ah.I thought the "we " refered to Canadians who got everything from "them" - the Americans who invented everything. LOL. Oh well ...

From the first link:
The term peameal comes from the ground yellow peas with which the bacon was originally coated. This ensured better curing and shelf life and avoided bacterial problems. Over the years this tradition was changed to cornmeal, due to the availability of corn.

Back Bacon - the best thing about Eggs Benedict!!! Now was that dish named after Benedict Arnold - a man vilified by his nation (the US of A) but a damned fine ersatz Canadian. (saw his plaque hidden away in the upper level of the old chapel at West Point....interesting that instead of removing him altogether the alums of that institution felt that he should still be represented anyway albeit more discreetly - sorry for the trivia moment)

found this link....

Well, call me un-Canadian if you must, but I for one prefer American beer. Perhaps its because there is more variety. Perhaps its because I can drink more, and then pee more, so I at least get some exercise while I drink American beer. Perhaps its because if I don't have enough money for my favour brand, I can always get whatever is on sale at half the price. If I want to be alone, I can get a 12 of Blatz, and no one wants to be anywhere near me after a 12 of Blatz, so I have no choice but to be alone.

I am Canadian, but I hate Canadian (beer).

So, what d y'all say to that, eh?

I'd say you're getting fatter...slower Smile)

I'll admit I prefer American pricing of beer...but I do prefer Canadian beer (when I'm having beer). It generally has a better flavour when comparing to an "American" counterpart.

Some Europeans prefer to drink their beer "off" as in off the shelf and warm.
I personally like my side bacon from my butcher as well as my back bacon (Canadian bacon) and pea meal bacon is preferable for home made pizza in our house.

I heard that somewhere...about the warm beer thing.
That in England it's preferred that way.

The only benefit I can see to having warm beer...is if you're trying to win a belching contest.

My family is from Germany and my mother in law drinks hers off, I have to have it frozen cold right out of a freezer not just the fridge. To each their own I guess.

When I was in London many years ago, the beer was served cold. Mind you, I could still win the belching contests.
