I haven't been able to figure out what is going on? The reason Harper wants it gone. Can somone explain the plus side of having it disbanded?

It's all about the freedom to sell on the open market rather than being made to give up your product to some bureaucracy...and to give western producers the same freedom that is enjoyed by eastern producers. More or less.

Right, it seems to be omitted that the "Canadian" Wheat Board only applies to western producers.

but but but.. "The Farmers" banded together to agree to sell as one because the "conglomerates" were taking advantage of them. So what if not all the farmers want to sell to them, they are the conglomerate now and what they say goes!

Heh...the irony.

So wheat grown in Ontario isn't subject to being sold exclusively through the wheat board?

Where is the comparison of what the farmers out east get for their product on the open market, as opposed to what the western farmers get through the wheat board?

A good read with reasons why it is legal.
