Accomplished bash at 4Play Sports Bar,
Friday June 3rd, 2011 starting at 3pm and running
all night. The event will be in support of Jake's Tickets,
a new organization I am heading whose goal is to send
under-privilaged kids to an NHL hockey game. 40 different
kids and a guest will enjoy NHL hockey when they otherwise
may not be able to afford to. NHL too expensive? Well
Jake's Tickets will help that many more kids be able
to see their NHL heroes on the ice, live at MTS Centre
each year. Proceeds from this event will go towards
reaching this goal to purchase a pair of season tickets
specifically for this reason. Entry will cost only $20
which also gets you an official collector's Mission:
Accomplished T-shirt, a complimentary Sleeman beer and
other cool Sleeman swag plus a glass of refreshing Freixenet
Cava to toast later in the evening.

Sounds like a pretty cool event!
I'll have to check that out.... Jets, AND Sleeman's? I like that combo!

I think that's an excellent initiative. Mind you it is a teensy-weensy bit presumptuous. Nothing is official yet as much as I want it to be...

Katz has no clue and if he does, he is being used as a pawn to keep the heat off of TSNE regarding the announcement, name or whatever rumour is going around that day.

TNSE will deny EVERYTHING at this point. Basically they won't confirm any rumours other than while they are making the official announcement. So you can't really take anything the TSNE says with any seriousness.

Of course they have a name, jerseys, slogans and marketing campaigns ready to go. They would be stupid not to. However unlike Jim Balstupid they aren't going to tell anyone about it until they officially own the team and have the blessing from the NHL to move it.

Unless it's the Moose I doubt they've got anything more than in-house design prepared. Too difficult to keep things quiet if they have too many outside peeps involved.

I predict the (new) Winnipeg Jets will have same colours but new logo.

Depends on how secret it needs to be.

I have seen advertising clients pay some serious bonuses to design firms if they can keep the details secret from the media and rumour mills. They can also have a design firm run with 4-5 different ideas at the same time to obscure which one they are actually leaning towards.

It happens for ad campaigns all of the time.

That was my business for a significant part of my career.

I can't see the Meese spending big bucks preparing such marketing materials unless they were 100% certain they were going to be successful.
