I guess this qualifies as an attack ad. Fair play eh wot?

Epic fail on the ndp communication staff for failing to preserve all variations of their website...

I love the ad. The PCs are throwing the Nippers very own ad back in their faces.

I hope people listen.

For some reason people in my area feel far more at ease talking to me then when other parties call them up, they say that even though they have NDP signs, are card carrying NDP members and have voted NDP all their lives, they will either be staying home or voting for a different candidate.

While Sellinger THINKS he has a good battle going in my area, thats based on internal polls and can you really see a party member telling a party pollster that NO they wont be voting NDP this time?

I saw that ad on TV last week.

Interesting note on that...well, the NDP ads about privatizing Hydro...

If I recall (and was discussing with someone at work yesterday)...some kind of law was passed making it impossible to privatize Hydro without a referendum?

Which would mean even if Hughie got in and WANTED to privatize it...he can't, unless the public votes on it and agrees that's what they want.
So basically Sellinger's ads are saying..."Hugh will privatize Hydro, if YOU want him to.?"

which is even more ridiculous that Sellinger has actually allowed partial privatization of Hydro and encourages it.

From the Manitoba Hydro Act

No privatization without referendum
15.3(1) The government shall not present to the Legislative Assembly a bill to authorize or effect a privatization of the corporation unless the government first puts the question of the advisability of the privatization to the voters of Manitoba in a referendum, and the privatization is approved by a majority of the votes cast in the referendum.

I'm quite sure that they are. They just don't want anyone else to know.

I just found one of my co-workers doing a little fear mongering amongst the staff, so I had to correct him. He's works for one of the nipper candidates. I think I surprised him.

Play harddall, yes.

The most fundamental truth in politics is that perception trumps reality. What people perceive to be true is closer to the truth than what the truth actually is. The NDP are masters at this game and may fear monger their way to another victory.
