OTTAWA — Prime Minister Stephen Harper on Sunday confirmed that three federal byelections will be held next month, two in Manitoba and one in Ontario.

A statement posted to the prime minister’s website confirmed votes will be held Nov. 29 in the Manitoba ridings of Dauphin-Swan-River-Marquette and Winnipeg North, as well as the Ontario riding of Vaughan.

The Winnipeg North vacancy was created when NDP MP Judy Wasylycia-Leis stepped down to try her hand at municipal politics. She’s seeking to become mayor of Winnipeg in an

how much do you think this will hurt Kevin L?

Liberals will cancel the Jet purchase if a full federal election is held and they win.

Judging by the comments alone, yup. It will hurt him.

We need those fighter Jets, especially for only $16 Billion , estimated. Do you think that this will turn into the other estimates for example $500,000 to renovate Parliament building and it turning into $5 Billion?
How does the civil service get to be so stupid?

Why does inflation hit 200% + where it comes to construction projects?

Could it be because contractors are gouging us...in effect, stealing from us...and with our bureaucrats too stunned to look into the pricing?

It's due to unions, not the private sector. Unions demand too much.

Nope. They do not receive twice as much in dues, nor do workers receive twice their regular pay.

It's all about ripping off the taxpayer.imo. crooked contractors.

We will see this very soon with the stadium numbers.

Maybe you are right. I thought the numbers for the stadium were due last week or is it this week? Soon, anyway.

Everyone's in suspense over it.

It'll be interesting to see how it's handled.

This is where Asker will make his money btw.

I'm willing to bet it will proceed, Selinger's political future is tied a bit to it.

Can he come up with the cash though?

He'd have to steal from Peter to pay Paul (Asker) and then justify it all to taxpayers and, most importantly, to Harper.

As a have-not province, we must look to be frugal in our spending I'd think, and this issue sure isn't 'frugal' imo.
