blue jays!

sooo... some blue jays decided to build a nest in the tree right outside my front door. so far.. not diving at anyone or anything.. apparently its odd that they would build that close to people.



anyhoo.. ingredients for a nest..



mud, twigs, sobeys bag, giant tiger bag..



ugg.



I am wondering if it would be interesting enough of a thing to get a webcam and set it up?

I put my cat fur from the cat brushes out for the birds to use to build nests with, hoping they will forgo the plasticised bedding...



Currently have some bird trying to build a nest in my mailbox...before that was the light at the front door....persistant little bugger.

and...... I walk up to the house the male bird is freaking way the F out. screaming at the top of his lungs I look around my cat is no where to be seen. figure.. hmm.. maybe he is hungry since we never fed the birds Since sunday. go feed them.. come back..
he is coming close to me but not at me...like he is trying to get me to do something ( not run away).... I go to the back again//
now mama bird has left the nest and they are both freaking out. I look around still nothing

all of a sudden neighbours cat comes shooting out from under the tree. running away with both of them hot on his tail...

I open the door, let my cat out and the birds dont even bat an eye. Leave her completely alone.

yup.. I got watch birds that protect me and my family ( and theirs) from other cats.

crazy. bad enough my cat thinks it's a dog, apparently now we have a pair of blue jays that think they are dogs too.

Nature at its finest...

We were recently out in the Whiteshell and the cabin we stayed in had hummingbird feeders everywhere....I love hummingbirds, they are so neat. We even saw an eagle...I love nature.

BUT I HATE DOGS!

The Whiteshell is full of hummingbirds.
and deer
and bear
and moose
and water
and SKEETERS

stupid damn next door neighbour cat. Went far enough up into the tree and scared mom and the babies out. good thing the across the street neighbour saw and came running to the rescue.
