Harper's cons won an overwhelming majority. The ndp are the official opposition. The lieberals and bloc are now largely irrelevant. May's green party always was.

What's Canada in store for?

Will we see real judicial reform? Will the bad guys begin paying for crime? How will uncle jack and his group perform in opposition? They have some real loose cannons in that group. Does jack0 realize that with a harper majority he has next to no bargaining power?

First 100 days will show the door to the gun registry and payments to political parties with the implementation of the last proposed budget.

...and NO...Harper doesn't have a hidden agenda. Wink

It looks like the stock market does not like the election results. At least I'm assuming the losses so far today relate to the election. Yesterday the day started off strong (reaching as high as have a point plus) before ending the day in the red.
Will today react in similar fashion?

Will we get the death penalty for women who have abortions? Will we get more jails to put all the poor people in? Will we get lots of fancy fighter planes to invade more countries? Will we get mandatory prayers in school and ban evolution theory? Will we have to pay admission to get into an emergency room? Will all the rich be tax exempt or only the super-rich? Will I be able to get a tax credit for bribes to politicians?

Ummm. Huh? Scaremonger much? Has any of that ever happened in Canada? What makes you BELIEVE this will happen now?
I'm guessing you didn't vote conservative?

Apparently mr troll is listening to the lefties who are convinced Harper is evil. Remember Chretien started the whole ``hidden agenda`` BS. This is a great day for Canada.

I find people that exxagerate like that tres annoying. No one in their right mind could believe that nonsese yet they have no problems saying so publicly.

I mean it is patently absurd to even suggest the death penalty for women that might find themselves in unfortunate circumstances. So why even suggest it?

Ditto this notion of poor people jails. It is not poor people being targeted for jail. It is criminals. The fact that many criminals were poor reflects more on their poor character that instead of working harder they resort to crime.

Hyperbole brings no credibility to such matters I'm afraid ...

Anyone looking for IT staff in the next 4 years?

I'm about to be outsourced...probably as quickly as the Wheatboard will be dismissed.

That's the fear from the old-timers/pessimists in the department anyway.

Do you believe the wheat board will be dismantled? They have been trying eh? Looks like every time they vote though they lose. I say let the farmers decide and let the chips fall where they may...

It's been a target for a very long time. I see no reason why the new government wouldn't use the opportunity.

My dept. works with the board.
I'm not taking a position one way or the other. Agreed, let the farmers decide. But yeah, I'm very happy that I don't work @ the board that's for sure!

And naturally, as a public servant, I have a huge target on my back.

The wheat board changes have not been stopped by parliament.. they have been stopped by judges. I really dont think there is anything that the government can do to the organization at this point

I agree. It sure is not due to a lack of trying though.

Its never a good day when decent paying jobs leave Winnipeg..
Especially if those jobs go overseas.

JTF is not a bitter angry troll! There is no such thing! Every one has a right, for the short term, to say whatever they want!
Short term, because Harper and the Conservatives have all forums on their list of do overs, but after the 1st 100 days!
That tell us He wants to have the spaces in His penitentiaries ready, if there is any room after marihuana possessers are put away!

The Canadian dollar is stonger and stronger, and a Conservative government will only make it stronger, thereby weakening our exporting manufacturers if there are any left, except the tar sands and the marihuana growers.
