Same with child tax credits. Why do people require tax credits just because they have kids? Or handicap tax credits?

Flat tax. No tax deductions.

Maybe a minimum tax rate? $20k or less = zero tax. Over that a gradually increasing tax rate until what $40k? After that, flat rate.

We should also have a flat income rate. Do 8 hours of work. Get paid for 8 hours of work. I mean, everyone who works 8 hours does 8 hours of work, right? Everyone who does 8 hours of work gets $100.00.

I'm just saying that the economic system is such that a flat tax isn't feasible. I mean, if we had a flat tax we'd lose hundreds of thousands of jobs and bankrupt the whole economy. We'd lose government jobs, accountant jobs, lawyer jobs, political jobs and more. The rich would manipulate numbers (still :p). The poor would continue to be poor.

Our current tax system is so entrenched in the structure of our society that without it, we'd basically shrivel up and die like a heavy heroin addict going through withdrawal. Stocks would fall through the floor. Cost of living would plummet. etc. etc.

people will manipulate it no matter what we do.

for instance the asshats who claim only $1 for a salary whilst their wives are getting paid $120,000 for their business just so the asshat can not pay child support to an ex

that sh1t will happen all the time

A flat tax removes most of the ways the system can be ripped off though.
