Is anyone access this forum with IE8? We have a member that just upgraded and now cannot get in, wondering if anyone else has been able to....

I had IE8 and this forum worked on it. But IE8 is uber-kludgie and I uninstalled it.

whoa dude... when I connect from teh CC... nothing earlier then Oct 13ish shows up....
connect from work... and its fine.

I believe this was the problem AA experienced. No issues here as I use Firefox.

I may have found the problem in the forum help section. They suggest you clear your cache occasionally. Give er a try.

Clearing the browsers cache can solve a bunch of display or login-problems. Browsers store the content of a website in their cache, to avoid loading images or other content again the next time you visit this site. This is speeding up your web browsing, but can sometimes lead to "obsolete" pages (when the browser still prefers accessing content from the cache instead of loading updated content). Clearing the cache would force a browser to download the content again to display an up-to-date page.

And Cache would not be the problem as I was accessing the site from home just fine yesterday.... if anything if it was cache it would be going to yesterdays data... Not October 13.
Just curious. what day was winnipegsandbox.com introduced?

I've been reading the forum help forum (from the department of redundancy department) and they have been having problems with their servers. The thing that confounds me is only a few have been experiencing this problem. Most have not (at least as far as I know). I certainly have not had the problem.

In any event you say the problem has not gone away yet you are reading and posting current posts? Has it or has it not gone away? Or is it present on one computer and not another?

I still believe it is browser issues. I have to constantly clear my browsers history to read current posts in Brodbecks blog. Maybe a new phenomena is upon us...

have the user try and go through a proxy. remember though, if they are at work or school, this maybe fawn upon. but I have had to do that at previous jobs I had to access some sites.

nah... it worked fine from home2 days ago.. and its at home... And also it was buggered at the CC... then all of a sudden did not work...
Its going to a completely different site. Was there any major change on Oct 13?

Not that I'm aware of. We introduced a redirect for winnipegsandbox.com on Oct. 30 as AA mentioned.

This is baffling. Why now? Why only a few peeps? You are having no problems at your office though? Why not try a proxy? Maybe we've blocked your IP address because you pissed someone off???

Could happen but that seems like a really really petty and immature way of handling someone you don't like...

I will run this by the forum folks later today/tonight if it has not been addressed.

AA, are you still experiencing this?

I think it has to be tied to a login somehow, and perhaps to the IE8 update.

Somehow everyone is being logged in to an "archive" of the forum from October.

Is there any way to check the forum to see if there is an "archive" folder you can access?

Also, check with forumn.net as they are the host (the French guys), maybe they recently ran an update which moved some files...but did not move all of our user accounts with their IP listing over to the new point?

I'm not having the problem at home...but I was at work yesterday (not at work today), so I'll assume it's still there.
