I have missed Swiss Chalet since coming back to Winnipeg.

Hopefully a location is eventually built somewhere in my area. I suspect all of the old people living around me would keep the seats filled in an NK/EK location.

Didn't their chicken come from the kitchen looking reddish but was fully cooked or something? Or am I getting my chicken places mixed up?

Perhaps. Chicken that is slow cooked or smoked sometimes looks a bit reddish in colour depending on the marinades or spices used. That said, it looks nothing like undercooked chicken.

Many people I know cook chicken WAY longer than they should and have no idea what dark meat is supposed to look like when cooked.

There use to be one on McPhillips, at Northgate I believe. I found the food to be mediocre at best.

I hope the Swiss Chalet delivers like the adds that we see on TV about them doing it.

Would be nice to order something quick, inexpensive and delicious that is not chinese or pizza or fried chicken

Swiss Chalet is FABULOUS chicken. I used to frequent, and I do mean frequent, that restaurant in Toronto.

its been so long since I had swiss chalet I cant even remember. Is it any better the the rotisserie chicken you can get at the grocery stores nowadays?

WAY better. The rotisserie chicken at the grocery stores is generally dry and lukewarm. They are cooked so long the wings and legs are almost inedible and the birds are generally REALLY small.

At Swiss Chalet the meat is juicy and falls off the bone.

Not really. I had some Swiss Chalet not long ago while visiting family in BC and the chicken was drier then I make and wasn't worth the price. It could of been an "off" day at that location, but was enough for me to leave half of my food on the plate. I wish they would open up a Famous Dave's here...now that would be most excellent! Very Happy

yeah really small for sure. Dont know about dry or lukewarm tho.

Thinking about switching up from Vern's pizza tomorrow to be chicken from Cantors done on the rott.

I was just at Cantors and bought a nice roasting chicken plus I bought a pork butt to make some pulled pork. Smile

What kind of rotisserie do you have? I have a Cuisinart counter top rott oven and it is amazing!

I have done pork roast, beef roast and chicken.

unfortunately tho.. the last time we did pork it was extremely delicious but my wife ended up in the hospital with a gall stone attack Sad

Did I say how much I love Swiss Chalet chicken? I have never once had a bad chicken dinner from that chain. I would very much like to be one of the first patrons at their new Kenaston Common location. Which conveniently is a five minute drive from home.
