It was nothing short of a crazy crash.
City cops are investigating after a driver slammed into a Grant Avenue bank and a gas station that are clear across the street from one another, along with taking out two other vehicles in the Wednesday morning incident.
"I don't know how that could happen. I don't think it could happen again," said Jason Dale, the driver of one of the vehicles that was hit.
Early reports from witnesses say the woman was trying to merge onto westbound Grant near Nathaniel Street when she slammed into a large orange truck that was heading west on Grant.
From there, she flew through an RBC parking lot on the north side of Grant, then hit some bushes and a fence before smacking into the building, then smashed into a second vehicle before careening across the street and crashing into a gas pump at the Petro Canada, on the south side of Grant, one witness said.
The woman, who appeared to be elderly, was taken to hospital, witnesses said. There is no immediate word from police on her condition.
The drivers of the two vehicles that were struck told the Winnipeg Sun they were not seriously hurt.
The Winnipeg Sun will update this story as information becomes available.
