A perfect example of one person rising to their level of incompetence!

Nominated by Prime Minister Harper, appointed by unanimous resolution to the newly-created position of Public Sector Integrity Commissioner in 2007, Christiane Ouimet suddenly resigned.
Prior to announcing the nomination, Mr. Harper told a group of senior civil servants that the government wanted to “restore faith in both politicians and the bureaucracy...” and ensure that public servants can safely report unethical or illegal actions.

A lawyer, Ouimet served with the federal government for twenty-five years, primarily in positions related to quasi-judicial functions, regulations, and audits. She was Executive Director of the Immigration and Refugee Board, Associate Deputy Minister at Public Works and Government Services and at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.

To bad he was not serious about the position as no one came forward still to afraid of what might happen . Harper doe,s not like things he is not in control of and one senior civil servant working under him told me at a conference, it is well known make him look bad it is bye bye .

if I could fire my daughter and my wife for making me feel bad, then I would.
Harper is a damn good Prime Minister, trying to run a country without a majority!
I love what he is doing in that situation.
He is no wimp, and he knows that the only way to manage is to rule with an iron fist over his caucus, and bring legislation in that he can get the support of some of the opposition.

His singing and playing the piano is a big vote getter.
The last Great Prime Minister who could sing was Brian Mulroney! lol

Oh boy, another Pavolo rant about Harper. For Chrissake, the article says it was a resignation, do you not get it, people can quit if they're unhappy with their job.

You must be dissatisfied with your lot in life, such that you have to blame Harper or Katz for everything. To use your line, if you don't like it, what are you going to do about it?

It appears that of the 227 complaints 225 were dismissed and the other 2 , nothing was being done. Pretty scary statistics, and then how does the auditor general get called in? And Ouimet quits before the general reports that she did nothing for the 3 years she was in charge.
When you think about it Hatper has been in charge for 5 years and hasnt sccomplished anything! lol
We have to get Harper in power with a surplus of seats, so we can get the laws passed that Harper wants to bring in!

Ms. Ouimet was answering questions in front of a committee , on Friday, and it was on my chanel 24, and you know what? She was damn good! i have changed my mind completely , which was based on the newspaper reports, which were based on only the slanted findings of that other lady of ours that criticizes all government actions, the auditor general!
Who are you to believe? The auditor general , who never once talked about any specifics with Ms. Ouimet, or Ms. Ouimet, a 23 year civil servant, who continually did well in her various jobs!

Are you saying he is not a control freak , and he appointed this one did he not . Wonder what Inky Mark would say he is a nice guy wonder what Helene Guerigis might say , How about the other 3 MP,S not seeking to be re elected this time around all vetrens of the hill .
And it is not just Harper or Katz it is the generel state of politics and politicians altogether .

Funny, your post makes a direct reference to Harper.

Anyway, never met the man, so I can't say for sure, but from all accounts, Ouimet should have been just outright fired. Some people are evil you know.

Why should Ouimet have been fired? What bullcrap newspaper report are you reading?
Do you know about the situation personally? Did you see her defend her 23 years of experience as a civil servant, and continually get grade A+ ratings and better and better postings?
I criticized her on the basis of the newspaper report, and I apologize to her for that!
