I dunno.. are there more gay people now because its more acceptable to come out? Or is it because of some other reason? This would be something that would be damn near impossible to prove in the general population though.

I am surprised that there is not more research being done into what may cause homosexuality. I remember the debate in the 80s and 90s whether it was by choice (probably not) or genetic (definitely not), but it would be nice to know whether it's just random or if there is some causality. Not necessarily looking for prevention or cure/reversal.

ULTIMATELY...it's a choice.

Whether you have inclinations or "feelings" a certain way...you still CHOOSE to act on those feelings and have gay relationships.

If you want to tell yourself it's "how you are" so that you can justify your choice to yourself...that's fine...

But...biologically, man is DESIGNED (or evolved) for procreation with a woman.

BUT...SOCIETY has dictated how everyone is "supposed" to live, and who they are "supposed" to have sexual relations with. And 1000 years from now...those CHOICES may change again.

If anyone has ever studied ancient history...look back at the Romans & Greeks.
Men would have a wife, and a mistress (sometimes many), and then they would also have a boy (or "apprentice") for other pleasures. It was not uncommon for men to offer a mistress to other men as forms of "payment" for things, or just for new pleasures.

Would that be accepted in Western society today?
Did you know it's still being practiced in certain areas of Asia & Africa?

For everyone to get all hyped up and say that being gay is WRONG, is just as bad as those jumping around saying that being gay is NORMAL...it's not NORMAL...it's just a part of life...and one that's been around for thousands of years.

Go into a locker room on loonie day for swimming at a community pool...the ONLY kids you'll see covering themselves are those about age 8+...because they've been TAUGHT that they shouldn't be allowing other people to see their private parts. Kids under that could care less.

And for those with kids in your homes...you'd see the same as they grow. For the first few years you might take a shower or bath with your little one cause it's more convenient, faster, save water, etc. But once they get to about age 4-6...you start covering yourself more, and trying to keep them covered more to TEACH them about modesty.

VERY high incidence of mercury poisoning in early roman and greek societies too.

St. James Civic is AWESOME...salt-water pool.
Just went to Cindy Klaussen a couple weeks ago...that one is great too.

Sherbrook pool isn't bad...but the locker rooms (and access to them) sucks.

PanAm isn't bad either...depending on when you go.

hmmm...only went the once so far...but we really liked it.
lifeguards were VERY friendly.

couple of "odd" people swimming laps (if that's what you'd call it)...and some odd 14-year-old (girl I think) who was too chicken to jump off the 3m board.

Went once to Cindy Klassen pool . Unlike her acting in the MTS commercials, the pool was awesome! Very friendly staff!

There is the same percentage of gay people as there are left handed people!

And it's because there are people like this (who think this way) that parents teach their kids to cover up to begin with.
