For at least a year now, there's been a weird pole put up on the south side of the intersection of McPhillips and William.

I guess it went up after the google car scampered around last spring, as it's not in the Googles Map Street View:

Going back over my post, it seems like I'm expecting this camera to belong to the Council on Foreign Relations or the Masons or something! I sound so paranoid!

I'm just curious as to how and whose web cam came to be put up on what I assume is City of Winnipeg property!

in case you didn't know...CTV and Global and CBC all have "live traffic feeds" now.

I don't know where all their cameras are located, but i know they use them for traffic reporting and talk about them during some reports.

Hear about them on CJOB too

My presumption would be it's a traffic camera service company, who relays the information to whatever news service will pay for the information.
