More Bad Traffic Circles!

With the recent change of Nassau Street to one-way north from McMillan to Gertrude, traffic has now patterned itself to use the backlanes parallel to Nassau instead to navigate southward.

Fire trucks use the backlanes as well as driving the wrong way on Nassau to reach McMillan now, as evidenced by their action attending to the fire at 584 McMillan yesterday (Nov.14/10).

Is this new traffic patterning the intended purpose of the changes to Nassau street, and, if not, what is the city doing to rectify this situation?

Well, the first two trucks stopped at Nassau briefly, then went ahead another 100 feet or so, and then turned down the back lane to get to McMillan. Nassau has now become one-way north from McMillan to Nassau so they didn't want to go the wrong way on Nassau I presume.

When other trucks came, some did the same while others disregarded the one-way signs on Nassau and went down the street the wrong way.

The situation was chaotic.

I cannot believe just how little thought went into these changes.

I emailed 311 to ask if this was the intent when the changes were made. I can't wait for a reply.
