The scary actual U.S. government debt

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/report-on-business/commentary/neil-reynolds/the-scary-actual-us-government-debt/article1773879/

Boston University economist Laurence Kotlikoff says U.S. government debt is not $13.5-trillion (U.S.), which is 60 per cent of current gross domestic product, as global investors and American taxpayers think, but rather 14-fold higher: $200-trillion – 840 per cent of current GDP. “Let’s get real,” Prof. Kotlikoff says. “The U.S. is bankrupt.”

Laurence Kotlikoff and Peter Schiff have it right: deficit spending will bring and U.S. and Canada to our knees eventually.

Not Canada- Our $56 billion dollar deficit is to be charged directly to the Liberals and NDP, who promised to defeat the Conservatives balanced 2009 budget proposal. Remember harper had to prorogue parliament in order to change the spending proposal to get the budget passed.
That spending is the reason we have those traffic circles in River Heights! lol

It sounds silly, but it's true. Good summary, Rosen!
