Thanksgiving 2010

As we approach another thanksgiving I wondered what everyone was thankful for...

I'm grateful for a great family and wonderful friends...
I'm grateful for our servicemen fighting for Canada...
I'm grateful for my critters...
I'm grateful for a terrific autumn...
I'm grateful to the members of the sandbox for always making things interesting...

I'll be forever grateful if Winnipeggers and Manitobans alike shed their socialist tendencies...
I'd be grateful if someone would show a real vision for Winnipeg...

Being above ground and all that goes with it.

I'm grateful that I enjoy reasonably good health and can still take solid food.
I'm grateful that I have 4 healthy and productive, albeit annoying at times, adult children that are making their own mark on the world.
I'm grateful for all the simple pleasures.
I'm grateful that I live in a country which provides me the freedom to enjoy my life.

And, I'm especially grateful for those with the strength of character to stand a post, far away from home and in harm's way, to ensure that I can be grateful for all those other things.

Somebody cue up a Burton Cummings song...cheesy thread.

I'm grateful that there is no audio on this thread so we don't have to listen to Burton Cummings.

Now, that, I am grateful for.

I am grateful for Burton Cummings, because it gives me someone to stalk out here. One day he may give me a mustache ride. Heh.
I am grateful for Apple Jacks and rye bread, the Scoop N' Weigh on Taylor and La Grotta Mediterranean Market.
I am thankful that my child sold all of her infernal Girl Guide Cookies on the front lawn of our house today, preventing me from having to drag her door to door.
I am thankful that my eyebrows are still not as bushy as those of Michael Ignatieff.
I am grateful for the Internet, and the invisible people it brings me for entertainment, commiseration and to make fun of.
I am grateful that I still have never voted Liberal.

Of course, I am blessed and fortunate to have a nice home, a husband who provides for me and my children, my health, healthy kids, and the dumb luck to have been born and raised in the most awesome country on earth.

Girl GUIDE cookies. The horrid, vile, evil ones that are covered in chocolate and filled with mint. *gag*
I didn't think we'd manage to get rid of them, but the kid blew them out, so I get to wash my hands of the ordeal until the spring when they want us to sell the more palatable vanilla/chocolate combo.

This is a true Thanksgiving miracle.
