What the heck is with a suspension for Avery?

sheesh whats next they cant even touch the puck if not in their own zone? riling the other team up is part of the game.

Avery is a complete knob. While I enjoy watching whomever he is playing abuse him the suspension is right in my mind. He did not have to say that. It is an embarrassment to his team, the Flames and the NHL in general.

Professional sports teams are having a hell of a time keeping their players on the straight and narrow. Fortunately the NHL is not having the same problems as the NBA, NFL and baseball are having. But now is the time to nip it in the bud.

Boggles the mind given the money these guys earn that they can't find a way to control themselves a little better.

For those that say "so what" consider that these dudes are looked up to by kids and if the idiots can't demonstrate they are positive role models that is so what. A good reason why kids run around shooting themselves and others and sprouting disrespectful garbage wherever and whenever they want.

So... now hockey players are not human?

Parents should not allow their kids to look up to these guys in the first place.

yeah.. can you imagine if they would have suspended Guy for some of the stuff he said and did off ice? I would hate to have been anyone dumb enough to tell him face to face.

But to comment on someone else's personal life is and the choices they make is so inappropriate that he deserved what he got and more.

It was delicious television. Sloppy is not a censored word, and neither is seconds.

Some did. Some did not. I think the sports channels did not edit while the MSM did.

I was watching the flames play dallas last night. They were talking about this suspension but they didn't really cover what it was for...
can you tell me what he did/said to get him suspended/kicked off the team?

Avery suggested that other players that were dating his ex-girlfriends were partaking in his sloppy seconds. He was specifically targeting that comment at Dion Phaneuf who is dating Elisha Cuthbert.

BTW Dallas played Edmonton last night.

Deank??? What's this? Perhaps a little of the green eyed monster? Every pro hockey player (pro athlete for that matter) I've actually met were very courteous and well mannered.

Certainly there are a few rotten apples in every segment of society. I don't know I would go so far as to paint all members of a given fraternity with the same brush. Unless that fraternity is the Hells Angels or the Mafia or the Bloods and the Crips...
