Bought a CDN tire gazebo/screen house a few years back. The zippers that connect the screen around the house are starting to go.

I don't want to just buy a new screen, or waste time finding one that fits.

Any recommendations on places that can just put new zippers on for me?

These would be like 6 foot long zippers.... Do normal tailors have these and are they equipped to replace them?

If they don't close properly, try tightening the open ends.

They've pretty much 'hourglassed', in that the only part where they are connecting is the zipper handle, and from there the fabric spreads outward...

Tell me that's not the best zipper done on a keyboard that you have ever seen! EDIT: wow, okay, that's not so great, but you get the idea!

Plastic zipper I suppose.

The old, and gone, Army & Navy had a guy that repaired tent zippers, but I don't know where he's gone.

you can try Home Depot too.

They have what they call a "tarp" zipper.

It's basically a stick-on zipper which you stick to a piece of poly or a tarp, and then cut the plastic up the middle and VOILA you have a zipper.

May or may-not work on an existing one.

If you want to go through the route of sewing a new zipper onto the existing one...try Marshall Fabrics (main or Pembina) and they should have zippers you can buy. They come in rolls, and you just add the zipper component onto the end. (cut what you need).

for some insane reason.. zipper repairs generally cost more then the original item.

and yes Mantha that is the best zipper done on keyboard EVER...also the worst cause its also the only one Smile

wait a second.. the middle part where the zipper connects still holds? Are the teeth on the zipper wore out or do they just not get joined together because you need to "tighten" the zipper?

do you have it up right now I could pop over and take a look..umm..maybe tonight or Thursday perhaps.

In the yellow pages are some tent manufacturers that probably have the right quality zipper and may be willing to sew it on for you- Try Manta , 270 Hutchings 694 2672 Murray Tent- 653 Sargent 775 4596, Norwood Tent 1235 Sargent 774 2444

I believe that we use a lot lighter zipper(metal) for my sofa cushions, that I can sew for you, and if the above cannot help you, bring in one of the broken pieces, between 730 A.M. and 1130AM to door 3 at 803 Erin street , 5 metal stairs up, and come in and yell out my name or walk straight in 15 paces to my desk. Let me know ahead of time, to make sure I am in, because I could be out with GOM or DeanK, getting drunk! lol

My zippers come on a 500 foot spool, so the size is no problem, but the qality of the zipper might be!

DeanK- are you a zipper expert as well as a door repair expert, and a cigarello purchaser expert?

Mantha, maybe all you need is to hand stitch the zipper back onto the tent?

sounds like a new zipper stitched on as the teeth are just not holding any more.

I wonder if any furniture manufactures have that capability???

Sounds like in real life, the teeth have been streched and need a Dentist. lol

DeanK - we need to get our hand needles ready, to stirch up this problem! Do you think we should take this in to a Doctor and try and get Manitoba Medical to cover the cost of labour, beer, pizza and chicken charges?

That's why I believe it to be a nylon/plastic type and not a cotton/metal.

If you're gonna' replace it, replace it with metal fer'sur.

Made in China- I saw an ad for Walmart 10'x10' hampton Gazebo , with mosquito netting at $98. How can one complain with prices so low?

thats the problem.

To repair would cost more then that. Or so close to it that what makes more sense? A new one? or repairing an old one?
