Severe thunderstorm watch for
City of Winnipeg issued
Severe thunderstorms likely this afternoon or this evening.
This is an alert to the potential development of severe thunderstorms with large hail and damaging winds.
Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements. If threatening weather approaches take immediate safety precautions.
A disturbance tracking eastward through Saskatchewan will trigger thunderstorms over Western Manitoba early this afternoon. Some of these storms will likely become severe giving large hail, damaging winds and heavy downpours. The storms are expected to move into the Red River Valley and Interlake areas later this afternoon before moving into the Whiteshell region this evening.
