Cutting VAC is something the Liberals or NDP would do, not the Tories.
If they really want to cut, start with Multiculturalism, Status of Women, INAC and Canadian Heritage.

I'll second that.

Our veterans deserve every ounce of respect they get. Taking any service away is dead wrong. But...

If that department had a $3 billion budget to administer to 100,000 veterans 10 years ago, and today has a $3.5 billion budget for 75,000 veterans then the budget must be reviewed.

If the government shaves $350 million from the budget and provides the exact same level of service or better then it's the right thing to do IMHO.

I think with $55 Billion to get to a balanced budget, every expenditure is being reviewed, analyzed and cut where it won't matter, like the census!

I think they are trying to address the situation BEFORE the war ends next year (or at least based upon the proposed withdrawal date).

Typically, when a conflict ends...the VAC (or VFW in the US) would be flooded with new "members".
