That was my understanding as well. Shaw took care of everything and switched my MTS line over to Shaw seamlessly.

Well when the Shaw tech was at our house we were on speaker with the MTS rep and all three of us at my home, the tech, my husband and myself heard the MTS rep state that our phone number was not available for transfer to Shaw and Shaw would have to issue a new number. That is what happened, we now have a new number for our land line. To me it doesn't matter because we had not had our MTS land line working form more than 2 years so anyone wanting to call us used our cell phone number. Now with the new Shaw number only a few people have the number mostly because they are too lazy to call the cell number.

That was the other thing - my internet is on one of those lines and I don't want to loose my long-time e-mail address (@mts.net). I've been stuck in this rut for 10 years knowing there's way better prices elsewhere.

Perhaps time to buy a company-branded domain... I think there's a couple of people who could help you with that Jondo.... perhaps for some bartering? ;-)
