djh- I agree with your comment about the Germans stealing the Jewish properties, but I believe that Germany has finished paying off reparations for their behaviour, and have atoned for their barbaric behaviour. When a Jewish painting shows up today and can be traced to its Jewish roots, it is returned to the original Jewish family!
It is too bad that 6 million out of 11 million deaths attributed to your Uncles family and friends were Jewish.
