People need to start eating their traditional diets

again and again more evidence keeps coming out showing that many people would be better off eating the diets of their ancestors.

Many of the "diseases" we have today can almost certainly be directly related to things like the above. But instead of trying to get people to eat better we spend billions of dollars on cures.

Lets take natives for instance. Especially in Manitoba they have an exceedingly high rate of diabetes. Everyone knows that diabetes can be managed alot better when eating better... BUT it does not take a genius to figure out that 1000s of years of evolution in the Native population can not be changed in a couple of hundred years to enable their genetics to switch to being able to eat some of "the white mans" foods.

Heck.. ukrainians and other northern european nations... something has happened there as well. Take a gander at the rate of IBS and chrohns of those people living in Manitoba... again something is off the chart messed up there. Why? gotta be something our genetics are not used to.

But no.. we all have to be a melting pot and we cant even remotely suggest that medical aspects be different between peoples becuase that would be racist.

Yes well race and genetic back ground are somewhat in the picture so is as you put it the garbage people pass off as food.

true.. our Garbage diets are definately a problem, no doubt. But so to is eating stuff our the genetics in our body just aint used to.

me for instance. I could probably out drink a busload of people if that alcohol was whisky or vodka and suffer no lasting effects ( including alcohol poisoning) . but a few ounces of tequila damn near kills me. i have seen the same effect with some friends of mine growing up. They could drink all the beer in the world. But two shots of whisky the would turn violent and go freakin crazy.

my gedo who has bascially eaten a Ukrainian diet all his life (very high in fat, salt and starch) has never had any medical issues related to blood pressure or the heart or cholesterol.

we need to stop tiptoeing around the racecard and admit that different genetics come into play based on race and this will impact people and what they eat differently.

I ate my first McGriddle today......it was everything one could hope for.......I am guilty of having eaten probably the most dangerous sandwich on the planet and admittedly enjoyed every nasty bite.

Thats the point. No one has done a proper study and shown people that different races have different tolerances. Because that would be "racist". We need to not tiptoe around this issue.

Didn't they do some serious studies about aboriginals and their 'modern day diet' and their relationship with diabetes? I bettcha' they did.

yup.. even came up with a traditional food pyramid just so that those that want to eat like before can know what to eat healthy like.

But go ahead and see if that report says even for one minute. You are NATIVE... dont eat/drink X. Your body does not know what to do with it. This is because you are different.

Actually...this thing is supposed to be coming to a KFC in Canada soon now.

Heard advertisements for it on CJOB yesterday.

Also discussed on CBC was a study done in Japan saying their stomachs have some kind of genetic enzyme which allows them to digest sushi easier.

I just heard the advert-blurb about it, not the full story...but that would make sense...that over time various groups from different regions would biologically adapt to their area so they can eat the local fare.
