Anybody here use the Leisure Guide for courses?

We use it regularly, especially for kid things like swimming lessons.

I'm curious though if anyone has ever sent their kid to "Cartown" in the summer?

The Leisure Guide claims Cartown is 25 years' old...is it worth it? Is it only a couple of hours? or is it a weekly class?

Anyone else have any good/bad things to say about the Leisure Guide?

Used it a few times. Always seems that the popular courses fill up fast.

Depending on what you are lookign for, school division continuing ed and site like localcourses.com are good as well.

The guide use to offer wood working courses, and had a drop in wood working shop. It appears to be gone now. I was going to take the intro just so I could have access to the drop in workshop.

Oh well. That is the only bad thing I have to say. Kids are signed up for mini-soccer, YAY.

We got 75 kids signed up by 10am. It is close and we can walk to games. The kids will be happy, breathing in all the car exhaust, knowing there will be no smoking allowed on the field.

Where'd you sign them up for soccer?

I was thinking of signing my daughter up this season as well.

As far as woodworking goes...there's a great place on Portage avenue that offers drop-in classes too.

What area are you planning on signing her up in?

Woodworking, the city had a shop where you could just show up on tue/thur 6:00-10:00pm and saturdays noon to 3pm. You has to take a into course, safety and handling of equipment. you could then drop in pay $6.00 drop in fee and use the equipment.

They probably dropped it because the guy running it either retired or got fed up.

Yea mini-soccer never fills up. If they did plenty drop out in the first few weeks. (not due to lazy kids but due to parents who give up)

no...Leisure Guide has mini-soccer too.

Anyone have contacts for the soccer signups?

Did a search and all I found was the WYSA, and all their info is for last year still.

Good thing we didn't go through the leisure guide for Mini-Soccer. Wouldn't want to associate kids having fun with sucking donkey balls.
