Its not like they can hide it. Or get away from it if a ransom was turned over.
Really good thing that Somalia is living so well with no real government and all. Nice to see how lawlessness is not rampant.

After the hijacking, the pirates Monday sailed the Sirius Star to a Somali port that has become a haven for bandits and the ships they have seized, a navy spokesman said.

This piracy thing has me floored. The Saudi ship is the size of an aircraft carrier. The pirates are in boats the size of mini vans Why would the captain just give up?
What ever happened to boiling oil (the ship has 2 million barrels of it on board). Just how hard can it be to repel boarders? Why the ship owners don't just hire some mercenaries to kill these clown escapes me.

Yes when watching a show recently they show them using water cannons to repel them at least thats the theory. You would think hiring armed commandos to fight back is not unheard of to try.

The 2 on this show did not and did not want to as their owners were told not to as the hijackers might blow up the ship. As some of them have rocket lauchers . And they are not afraid to use them easier to get the navies of the world to patrol the Straits of Hormuze I belive they are called.

The various navies of the world had been patrolling in that area, including Canada, for that very reason. I guess one got through.
