I doubt very much that they were scared by little old me. Each woman was easily 3 x my weight and 5 inches taller. By the looks of them I'd say they beat their husbands weekly.

Interesting. A theft in progress. At least he tried to block/stop it with the cart.

You should move into the north end. Pretty soon there will be a huge helicopter permanently flying over that area. Just over n's house.

I don't go shopping with her either because she regularly gets into fights in the parking lot. Giant Tiger - Page 2 Icon_smile

Exactly. Some people are so damn rude. You should try Superstore sometime GOM...some of the rudest people shop there.

I find most are rude no matter where you go , people are too self centered.

See...LD was actually being nice.

The ladies misplaced their cart behind his vehicle, so he politely moved it back to behind their vehicle so they could have it back.

I have done the same thing (a couple of times...and not just for ladies).

I've even taken the cart and pushed it quite hard into the back of their vehicle, as they obviously thought I wanted to take the cart home and had done that to me.

If I had not seen someone put the cart in place...yes, I would've either put the cart away when I put mine away, or I would've moved it between my vehicle and the one in front of me.

But, all these recommendations of "tolerance" are unacceptable.

Why are criminals (I mean REAL criminals) so rampant lately? Because they KNOW that if they accost most people...those people have been TRAINED not to react. To simply bow down to the criminal element...and then go crying to the police for them to do NOTHING!!!

Why are there so many RUDE people in this world? Those who do things not from retaliation...but simply because they are ignorant and uncaring? For one reason...because nobody calls them on it and tells them what they SHOULD be doing!

There was a time when, if some neighbor kid came tearing through your yard on a bicycle...you could stop them, yell at them, and they would apologize. Cause they know if they didn't, that you would find their parents, and they'd get a beating.

But today...we teach our kids not to listen to ANYONE...INCLUDING their parents...and if they act out, and the parent spanks them...the PARENT gets in trouble!!! (reference that stupid judge in Quebec).

And I will express that it doesn't matter what "level" of shopping you do, be it Giant Tiger, Sally Ann, Wally World, or Macy's 5th Avenue...there are plenty of rude, obnoxious people there...who really need to be put in their place!!!

I LOVE that quote...cause it's ALWAYS taken out of context...and completely contradicts 90% of everything else in the SAME BOOK.

"Eye for an eye" is just one that pops in my head...but there are dozens more.

And it's not about "sin"...or punishment...it's about EDUCATION!!!

It's about TEACHING someone that they are an idiot...or that something they did was STUPID, and it's time to learn or get out of the gene pool.

Everyone makes mistakes...and when I'm making an illegal turn, cause I haven't noticed the sign that says "NO RIGHT TURN"...I appreciate that "honk" that says "HEY...WAKE UP!!!"...and I usually graciously thank whoever let me know I was a moron. Yet I honk at idiots making illegal turns up and down Portage at rush hour...and mostly I get only 1-finger thank yous...and THEY are in the wrong!!!

I do not take issue with going after rude bastards but I do believe there are more important matters to deal with in life than some knob in a parking lot.

As to the quote it sort of goes hand in hand with the one about people who live in glass houses - in this case quite appropos.

But GC, congratualtions for finding another opportunity to tell everybody about your trips, investments and cars. I especially enjoy knowing about where you're making dinner reservations for next month. We feel so privileged to know (about) you.
On the subject of parking lot cart-abandonment - what Living Dead encountered (created) was an akward moment which they didn't know how to respond (but to get in their car) due likely to the admitted "angry tone". I think a smile and a request would have gotten the desired result. That being them moving the cart - rather than a confrontation or fight. You usually get what you work towards.

I agree for the most part. I'm a pretty firm believer in "you get what you give". Put out a bunch of negative energy and your bound to get some back. I'm sure the "2 fat women" would have moved their cart with a simple "excuse me, your blocking my van". I guess LD feel's he accomplished more with his "mean" tone.

Whatever makes you feel good I guess, but I seriously have to wonder about some people.

Are you serious? GT is a few tiny steps above Dollarrama. I don't like Wal-mart either but it's definitely above GT.

Fully agreed. For me it would go like this: Sally Ann=Value Village<Dollarama=Red
Apple=Bargain Bin Store (Reminds me of the old Biway Chain)<Giant
Tigre<Wally World.
