I just wish we had more snow this year. Like at least another 50 inches.

There are free winter activities at the Forks this Sunday! Guided snowshoeing walks, snowboard workshops, etc.

we're planning on jumping on the ice after class though and practice our ice skating (we're both learning Very Happy)

I have fished for close to 35 years on ice. This includes personal fishing and commercial ice fishing. the hole has never been that big.

uMMM..is there a misspelling in the quote from this article of the FREEP?

Doug Derksen stands out against the hoar-frost-covered trees lining
Brandon's Grand Valley Road Monday as he photographs the scene. The
mercury hit a daytime high of -10 C in Manitoba's second city Monday,
with a forecast high of -6 C under mainly sunny skies today.

Here's a link...I hope.

I was thinking more like the location shouldn't be Grand Valley Road, it should be Ellice & Arlington...and call in vice Wink.
