So, once again, everyone's getting ready to hibernate.
It's that time again.
With a warmer winter coming, there will be alot more snow predicted.
Post your winter experiences here and volunteer shovelling, car-pooling, whatever.

I'm not looking forward to winter... I am looking forward to taking a winter vacation. What better time to go on vacation: January or February?

I would like the city to invest more in cleaning up our streets and sidewalks. Remove the snowbanks. STOP plowing my driveway in and my sidewalk in AFTER the snow has already been shoveled. I don't understand why the snow removal equipment does not have a little gate drop down when approaching driveways and sidewalks...

Just be thankful you are not in SE Saskatchewan right now: 10-25 cm of snow forecast, blech!

As for a warmer winter, I'll believe it when I see it.

I'm only disappointed that there is no one on this forum to tell us how marvelous it is in Calgary...

They always remove the snow from driveway that they plough in.

Where?

Not in my neighborhood they don't.

3 times last year I dug out my driveway...and those dingbats came through and plowed a big ridge back in front of it within a couple hours of me finishing.

I'm in St.Vital. After the big plough comes through they have someone else come and push the snow off to the side of my driveway.

I actually enjoy winter. A cold day with a clear blue sky is much easier to handle than the kind of day we're having so far. Can't imagine living in Vancouver where wet and rain is the norm for "winter". I bet suicide rates go way up in Vancouver in January.

At one job, the VP that I worked for had been transferred from London, Ont to Vancouver. He phone me one day is February, considerably depressed. Vancouver had 38 days of consecutive rain and there were mudslides in North Van. I'll take -35 anyday.

If anyone wants snow today, go down to your closest arena that has ice and pick up the snow that they are clearing from the ice!

When I lived on Kingsway Ave, I picked up several "loads" in my van, hauled it back to my yard, and we ( my kids) made a snowman.
Very funny look on the kids walking by our house in September!

Great times!

We could all have the same avatar at the next major snowstorm that hits Winnipeg...

Ah, so that is how you make a snowman in the prairies. the snow is so dry out here can't even have a decent snowball fight.
