I don't know if G.O.M. has fixed my thumbs up and down, but the other day I hit a thumbs down in error, and I dont know who received it?
I haven't used either since I was threatened with being put to death , and that weekend sort of extinguished my one weekend of trying to get deanK at -100, and ruining G.O.M.'s record of plusses.
So much fun to be had on a forum. This last 3 weeks have been too busy to bring my computer home, but it is now up and running on stolen bandwidth, since my daughter left 5 hours ago, and I have cancelled the real $40 per month rip-off, as well as the cartoon package for her 4 1/2 year old son!
"I love you Zaida", sure is a heart stopper!

SMW wrote:I'm re-reading "The Essential Writings of Machiavelli" for the umpteenth time... between thumbing through the latest issues of Metropolis and (I'm embarassed to admit) GQ.
Heh ... I just finished reading The Prince.

I've gone from Machiavelli to Jane Austin: Sense and Senisbility. I basically just picked a random book off my wife's bookshelf... It's actually not bad so far, now that I've adjusted to the style of writing.

This is a book I'd like to read next, Urban Saint: The Harry Lehotsky story. I always admired him and all the work he did.

just finished reading "your heart belongs to me" (got it for Christmas) by um.. Terry Brooks? hmm yeah I think thats who wrote it. Its not bad, takes to long to get going and too many open ended pieces of the story and no real way that there can ever be a next book in the series ( at least none that I see )

Then I kicked back and read "the bears and I" yet again last night. ( I read it about every 5 or so years)
The bears and i is supposed to be based on the writers life adventures living in the deep north wilderness of BC many many moons ago. But so much of the stuff he says just seems so completely outrageous and with no way to prove it other then his own notes on his time that you are left wondering how it could be possible. Sure some of the stuff is historically accurateish.. but I just dont know.
I haven;t read my Douglas Adams books in a while so I might be ripping through those this week as well.

Say JTF... did you ever meet the writer of "the bears and I"? Seems like someone you might have met in your travels.

Mick Farren is another good author. I have read a few of his books and I quite enjoyed them.
