I read awhile back that there were going to be several Canadian Dates added to U2s Vertigo tour next summer, and that Winnipeg was rumored to be on it. So far, I've heard Edmonton and Montreal confirmed, but nothing about Winnipeg. I would kill for U2 tickets in Winnipeg!!! Has anyone else heard anything?

I would rather watch paint dry....so not a fan. I am still wondering why the Edge was in It Might get Loud...he is so not a good guitarist.

U2 is my absolute favorite band; I would kill for tickets. I'm going to sign the "bring U2 to Winnipeg" petition. There is still lots of time for them to add Winnipeg to the tour. Here's hoping!!!

Again I would rather watch grass grow. I had tickets to se4e them last time they played in Winnipeg, I gave them away to a friend. Not a huge fan, every song sounds the same to me.

Well, you can watch paint dry and grass grow (but for this, you'll have to wait until next year lol). Myself, I'd rather go and see U2. Their music is unique compared to other bands. The argument of "it all sounds the same" applied to every single band out there. Music has always been like this. I also love Matt Good, the Police and INXS. Each of these bands can likely be labelled as "having songs that all sound the same" but I guess all that matters is if people listen to them, and they do. Their music is what I enjoy, and would pay to go and see them.

Never been into "radio friendly" music. If they play it on the radio, with a few exceptions, then I am not a fan.

I'm going to see Matt Good this year at the Burt. I saw him last time and was quite impressed by the band.

The Edge has a distinct style that gives U2 a unique sound. That alone make him a good guitarist. If you don't happen to like U2, then that's fine. If you don't like a band, their songs will tend to sound the same. If you do like a band, you are more likely to notice the differences in the songs beneath the commonalities.

This picture was taken last week at Winnipeg Airport. Not really sure what the implications are ...

that U2 played at the stadium, but nobody knew about it?

Probably all it means is that the aircraft had some work done in Winnipeg ... if that picture was actually taken here.

Who have you seen in the last few years who would not be categorized as being "radio friendly"?

The Pixies, Fishbone, Ministry, My life with the thrill kill kult and the Violent Femmes....those are the ones right off the top of my head. My next show(s) are STP which is one of the exceptions for me and Dropkick Murphys.

Missed the Pixies, wish I saw them. Bjork, yeah, I'd go. She's an original. You should have seen Mum, also from Iceland.
