October 9/09- The Damn Free Press has nothing of any interest to print these days!
SHAME!
Waiting in pain
Three and half years into my illness, and after two operations, my neurosurgeon is out of answers for the reason that I am in pain. Since the pain is when I am standing up, he reasons that a standing MRI "might" give him the answer. Since the closest machine is in Alberta, Manitoba Health won't cover the cost because a local radiologist deems it an "emerging" treatment.
So back to a regular MRI. The letter I received yesterday advises me to be there for my appointment on March 4! I wonder if there is a hallway that I can sit in for the next five months?

IMHO, Doer's legacy will be that he failed to fix hallway medicine...he failed miserably as a matter of fact.
