I live in south Tuxedo, trust me when I say that most of the people down here hold onto their crap forever, and by the time they do get rid of it, its junk. In the few times I've seen stuff at the side of the road it was nothing more than rubbish. Last month a friend and I stopped at a place down the road that was throwing out a dresser to the curb...it was missing a drawer! When we asked the homeowner if they knew where the drawer was they had no idea. How do you loose a drawer on the way to the road?!

I think most people in my area will just pay someone to haul it out so they can reduce the chance of actually having interactions with anyone else in the neighborhood. Never before have I lived in such a close minded, snobby, unfriendly neighborhood.

I am at work.. but you are welcome to go over and start without me Smile.. wife's there and she is looking for kids to babysit.. so you could just go and drink in the backyard and not worry about the kids.

Wow I was so wrong! by 10pm Friday night I so far have a full set of golf clubs and a new mountain bike! There is a lot of junk too...Why are so many people just now getting rid of there cassette stereo receivers? Also found a portable mini disc recorder, what is a mini disc? Saw 2 BBQ's, and some old style CRT TV's. Nothing mind blowing.

Meeting a friend at 8am and heading out to find more stuff!

I just returned from my chores. Very little was placed on the lawns during my travels (mostly River Heights/Fort Rouge). Nothing I saw compelled me to stop for a closer look.

I went for a drive down Pritchard street in the north end. I picked up some great gear. I got one AK-47 minus the stock. 2 Browning a-bolt 30-06 rifles. A whole bunch of 22's. Even found one Tec-9 and a desert eagle .357

I'm hoping to find some gernades or sten/bren guns

I have seen a couple of trucks that were right full of a variety of stuff. I am guess they went out and grabbed everything they could find and will be holding a yard sale soon.

A few weeks back, our neighbours had a garage sale as they were moving. My wife bought a love seat (how do you say ugly) for $10 with the idea that my daughter would take it for her apartment in Brandon. Needless to say, my daughter has better taste than my wife. So we've had this ugly piece of sh1t downstairs in #3 sons room. So this morning, I got him up at 7 am, as I was leaving for some soccer matches, and we dragged it to the curb and put a sign on it that read "Take me......Please." When I got home after noon, it was gone. Cost of loveseat, $10, listening to son complain for 4 weeks, painful, finally getting rid of crap, priceless.

We took a drive to Assiniboine Park yesterday and went through northern Tuxedo for a look.

A few people had put stuff out we noticed, but the area was crazy with traffic....all kinds of people driving around like us...looking at each other and laughing.

Success! I'm pretty certain the city will do this again, a few incidents did mar the event but overall I think people respected it for what it was and didn't grab too many non free items Anyone else excited for free crap weekend? - Page 2 Icon_smile
