ok, haven't had sushi in several years in winnipeg, but looking for a nice sushi night out, not intending to break the bank, but want decent food, service and whatnot, where to go?

I personally love the value of Yuki Sushi, but it can be a long wait and it's pretty kitschy in terms of locale (McLaren Hotel). It's my go-to sushi joint. I've heard Blufish is fantastic, on the high end, and that Dae Gill is another good bang for your buck kind of place.

Very inexpensive...with good portions and service.
Very small place though (only about 20 seats), so try to target a non-prime time to eat.

I generally wasn't a fan of the fish quality at Masa but used to go to it because it was cheap. Haven't tried Yujiro but heard it was good.

Is there a place someone could recommend that would change my opinion of sushi?
Goth_chic wrote:How are steamed dumplings greasy? Dim Sum is amazing. Kum Koon is the best in Winnipeg. I went to an awesome place in Vancouver, it was right by the Burrard station....the name escapes me.
