Soundwave Entertainment and Sound Republic are extremely excited to present...

TIËSTO
KALEIDOSCOPE WORLD TOUR
www.tiesto.com

Tiësto's
career is punctuated by landmark achievements – the first DJ in the
world to sell out a solo stadium event for over 25,000 people 2 nights
in a row, he scored a number one hit with his single Traffic, the first
instrumental track to reach the top spot in his homeland of Holland in
23 years. His remix of Delerium featuring Sarah McLachlan's Silence was
the first house track ever broadcast on daytime radio in North America,
(it became an international dancefloor anthem and also spent eight
weeks in the UK top 10 chart). He played live in front of billions of
people during the Parade of the Athletes at the official opening
ceremony of the Olympic Games in Athens. But despite his meteoric
success, Tiësto remains grounded about his achievements and clearly
loves making and playing music above the accolades it brings.

Tiësto's
recently announced World Tour, Kaleidoscope is an expansive 18 month
journey around the globe, scheduled to begin September 24th 2009 with 3
nights at New York City's Hammerstein Ballroom and continuing on a 2
month run through North America. On November 11th, Tiësto will make his
highly anticipated return to Winnipeg at the Duckworth Centre in what
will go down as Winnipegs largest ever electronic music event!

Cool. I think he was here before, at the Convention Centre.

Wasn't that there a problem with his last concert in Winnipeg? (Something about a bomb threat or something?)

I'm not really a big fan of what he puts onto recordings (sort of cheesy IMO), but he would probably put on a pretty good show.

Not sure what the source of this was, but here's a story about his 2007 appearance at the Convention Centre.

WINNIPEG -- A series of bomb threats triggered an emergency evacuation
of the city's Convention Centre early Friday morning, where an
estimated 500 fans had gathered to watch a world-famous DJ put on a
late-night concert.
Officers who initially arrived on scene were met with a sea of humanity
and quickly called for as many additional backup units as possible.

At least 20 police cruiser cars rushed from all six districts of the
city to assist, responding to fears the obviously angry crowd could
turn violent.

"This could have gotten real ugly," said Winnipeg Fire-Paramedic
Inspector Stan Stone, who was also called to the scene along with an
ambulance as a precaution.

"Fortunately all these kids were real good about it."

Police K-9 units did a thorough search of the Convention Centre once
everyone had been cleared out, and officers allowed the evacuees to go
back inside the building just after 1 a.m. local time, where it was
expected DJ Tiesto would finish the show he'd already started.

Tiesto, a native of the Netherlands, was in Winnipeg as part of his
"Elements of Life" tour. He is considered one of the world's most
in-demand DJs and even performed during the opening ceremonies of the
2004 Summer Olympics in Athens.

Winnipeg-based Uptown Magazine recently described Tiesto as having a
"booking fee that is as much as some people make in year" and being of
the most loved -- and hated -- performers in the industry.

"He has a rabid fan base which views him as a demigod. However, his
position as the King of Trance has also made him the No. One target of
electronic music lovers who feel he is more about image than he is
about substance," Uptown wrote.

Police don't know if the bomb threats were linked directly to Tiesto's performance.

911 dispatchers received the first telephone threat from a man just
before midnight from a payphone in the east end of the city, followed
about 30 minutes later by a second call of a similar nature.

Police took the calls seriously and dispatched an identification unit
to both scenes in an attempt to collect forensic evidence from the
phones.
If caught, the culprit would likely face a mischief charge which carries a maximum sentence of five years.
