I read the feature in yesterdays FP about the aqueduct which brings our drinking water from Shoal lake. It was interesting that someone had the vision 90+ years ago to put this together. It was also interesting to read that there was much squabbling, complaining and opposition to the idea back then. (I never realized that Jenny Gerbasi was that old)
I guess that the aqueduct rates up there with Duff's Ditch, in the fact that it has such a profound impact on the way we live and also that someone had the courage, in spite of the opposition of the day, to push their vision through. Are we lacking individuals with that kind of political will and courage of conviction?
