BTW is the dark side down again? lol!

I woke up really early and my foursome played a couple of rounds of golf. I mostly drizzled on us. It did pour but we had some shelter in the power carts and of course we wore rain gear. I'm going to catch up on some episodes of Numb3rs, and generally try to warm up this evening. Saturday, I should cut the lawn and catch up on some reading. Sunday, I will be at the Blink-182 concert. Monday, no plans yet.

Elm Creek ($16) followed by Carman ($46). They were nice enough to comp our powercarts at Elm Creek.

How many times did you get stopped by construction on Hwy 2?
Who should I ask for to get a comp powercart if I get out there this week-end? Wink

Well rain or shine there is Sal's breakfast to look forward to Sunday morning at the c**k bridge locale, then early in the afternoon, a drive out to the Whiteshell....even if the four horsemen of the apocalypse are hurling down whatever upon us sinners, goddamnit I am gonna enjoy myself!!!!!!! The champagne is already chilling. The food is being prepped. I am already in pain so i may as well have a good time.

A beautiful weekend here in Edmonton; 22-30 degrees with mostly sunny skies and a chance of t-showers. Pretty decent.

So what if it is a fake beach. I still see tons of Winnipeggers going to Birds Hill on a regular basis.

Of course it would be a bit chilly to swim when its only 18C outside.

I on the other hand was soaking in 30C and sunshine floating around the lake at the clear blue water of my "fake" beach.

Now I am off to a BBQ in Airdrie. Its almost too hot here to BBQ.

A fake beach is a fake beach. You can color code it all you want, but in the end
it's still fake. And no, I don't make it a point to go out to Birds
Hill to enjoy swimming when I can travel no more than an hour more to REAL beaches. The only appeal Bird's Hill would have over an overgrown suburban pool is that it's in a beautiful natural setting instead of being surrounded by a bunch of overpriced houses. And
as for swimming in a suburban beach which is nothing more than a giant
pool, that's not my bag. People and dogs pissing and God knows what
else in a stagnant body of water; no thanks. But if that is for you,
then all the power to you.

I won't brag about the weather here... I hate this heat!
We had a ENE breeze yesterday evening, it seemed like someone opened the oven and all the heat came out...
Sunday we're expecting +35 C...

There was a delay of maybe 10 minutes. Mind you, this was at 7:20- 7:40 am with little traffic. I think it needs to pour rain if you want a free powercart.
