Okay, I just found out that this upcoming weekend is of the LONG variety? Louis Riel appreciation day? Damned Gunn's Bakery Jewish Calendar......it shows the 15th as President's Day!!!

So I guess LR Day came into being in the last year or so? The things one misses when they are away for awhile. LONG WEEKEND??? Icon_smile

Out of body experiences will do that to you. Maybe you should opt for the Irish Calander?

It's not on my calendar. Is this a holiday for all or just the Metis? Actually Monday I'm going to the Festival Du Voyaguer beer gardens regardless so if I don't get it off then I'll just get a doctor's note. Gotta love the union (they don't even check).

Originally, this holiday was going to be called "Vote NDP Day" as that was the only reason to implement it.

Or government offices.................Washington DC has been closed for the past 4 days and it looks like they will be closed again tomorrow. (all days paid by the way!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Probably not a bad idea...though I'm sure it would be pretty PACKED that day.

I agree with Goth, the second Monday in February will always be Family Day on my calendar. We spend the day together as a family doing somethnig, whether it be a movie or going to Festival or to the Forks River Walk. This year we are taking our grand daughter to Festival for the first time so it will be fun. And personally I enjoy the break in the middle of the winter as it can be too long between breaks (unless you make your own).

One of our girls soccer teams is headed to Vegas tonight. Me, I just get to go to Brandon on Saturday. On the brighter side, I have tomorrow off.
