I was allowed out of the house today! A chance to get off Wellington Crescent, so I took off , got to Cantor's Grocery and bought some beef bones for my guard dogs, then went on to Strikers deli on Manitoba, for some of the best bacon in the world, then down McGregor to try and get some smokies on bannerman, but they are closed for holidays, as I was warned.
I parked in front of NorthEnders house(from the other forum), and chatted about Ralph Brown Community Center, and how some things are improving with a new park east of Salter between Luxton and Inkster. i went down to see, and the open space has been tranformed with a great looking park for kids. Great news. That back lane brought back memories of grade 5 and 6, when i attended School on Alkens. Now the building is a Community health Center.
I made it to Mountain and Powers, the Renfrew Apartments, where I was born in 1944 and lived there until 1958. I was looking at the different apartments, lots of broken windows, but all I could see was where my grandparents lived, my Aunt and Uncle, another Aunt and Uncle, and my apartment is empty #22. The mind is amazing with all the memories it contains.
I could see my fathers garage, with the basketbal hoop(not there), I could see the back yard space playing catch with my brother and father( both deceased). I could see where I played hide and seek in the bushes, not there.
What a nice trip!
Now I am back safe and sound in my back yard gazeebo, smoking these great cigars and cigarillo's delivered by DeanK, and thanks again to dean K, who is out and about with his kids on his holidays!
Great week with lots of big orders, and more being lined up for Fall!
