Just wondering if anyone out there knows of any courses offered locally for young writers aged 10 to 12. My daughter absolutely loves writing and I've been trying to find some classes or workshops for her to take during the summer (or fall etc) but have had no luck.

Just so you all know, it's something she's been asking for not something I'm trying to force on her during the summer break. Personally I can't believe it's something she actually WANTS to do while she's off school, but I'm willing to support her in any of her interests.

If anyone has any ideas please feel free to send them my way. Thanks.

Try the Manitoba Theatre for Young People...they have some script-writing courses...might help.

Also check the Leisure Guide...they often have similar things listed.

Might check with RRC

And finally, check the library...they often know of courses for young students...especially over the summer.
