Heh...why do I think "Rain Warning" sounds funny...can you drown if you're outside too long or what?

(maybe I just got out on the funny side of the bed this morning...again)

"Warning: Do not stand still in one place for more than 20 minutes, or else your feet will shoot roots into the ground."
A warning like that might have been too hard to read and might just scare people from going outside...

DeanK -posting at 2:39 AM , and I woke up at 2:30 and couldn't get the computer to fire up- whomever is paying for this link must have been using most of the bandwidth, or else Terry on the Roseau reserve had confiscated it, perhaps.

So far, the long-term forecast is looking ok for my visit and I'm really looking forward to it; I just really hope all that rain won't cause a flood of mosquitoes to carry me away and eat me alive Shocked

Just got back from Whiteshell.......Beausejour took a pounding. Ditches are full of water, water in floodway.....we had trees come down and some minor roof leaks.....but the mossies, man, they are thick now. Nothing like bbqing bacon wrapped scallops when its windy and raining but hey, gots to pay the price if one wants to live large.....

We lost power yesterday afternoon and it was still not up and running when we left this afternoon.

Mizz P, if you like hiking you should try where my daughter and I hiked today........the Pembina Valley Provincial Park about 20 miles south of Morden. You get beautiful vistas looking down on the valley beneath you, lots of uphills and downhills. At the bottom of the valley we jumped rocks across the Pembina River, sat in the middle of the river on the boulders and had our picnic lunch, absolutely beautiful........try it sometime!

Hillside Beach, where my daughter goes on the weekend, has been without electricity and water for 3 days!
Global Warming? Is that what is going on, or is this attributable to Bernie Madoff?
