First there was the greatest Canadian alive thing... then there was that Stephen Colbert gets a room at the space station named after him (which they ignored) now this.

It seems lots of people just LOVE the idea of online voting helping them decide, BUT dont like actually listening to the people. Someone should sue the Nebraskan state government for misleading the people into thinking they had a say in the matter.

I agree. In particular, a "wrong" decision on this one would only go to help people understand that voting matters (except of course that the appearance of license plates doesn't). It's not as if people are going to get cancer from having silly license plates, and if people want silly license plates, so what?

It's very typical to be all for democracy, as long as the public votes "correctly". Personally, I can't see what's wrong with people choosing a silly license plate if they damn well please. In fact I find it sort of funny. I'd definately vote for something silly and be glad if it made it through.

If people were really upset about the result afterward, it should simply teach them to participate in the vote themselves!

It was a pretty juvenile thing to do on the part of the radio station I believe. Really childish exploit.

Did their little brains gets their rocks off over this ?

I'll agree with that. It's a bad way to treat a vote. It's not as if people get to vote on enough issues anyway, in my opinion.

Will you care when online voting comes to Civic, Provincial or Federal politics and the Liberals have your vote overturned on the grounds that it was not believable the NDP recieved 85% of the vote so something must be wrong with the process?
