I need a new restaurant to visit this evening! My first choice (not a new locale) for my birthday supper was Bistro Dansk, but they're not open on Mondays. Do people have similar suggestions? Good homecooking for $15 or less...

New(ish) chop place near Polo Park? Not sure how affordable that is.

Depending on what you order... Amici maybe?

The most affordable supper is Aalto's soup, salad, and dessert bar!

CHOP is certainly not in that price range.

If you want to get some good Chinese food for home...try Koi's Express (on Portage Ave). No tables to sit at...but certainly great take-out.

Have you tried Taste of Asia on McPhillips? A friend of my wife's runs that place...it's pretty good if you like Asian/Indian Food.

If you haven't been to Fortune Cooking (St. James, across from The Brick near XSCargo), they are pretty good, and reasonably priced.

Good cooking for less than fifteen dollars? That is next to impossible if one wants good cooking. You may consider going out with friends and sharing expenses like at a good Vietnamese joint....oh wait.....

Try La Fiesta on Sargent......they make excellent Salvadorean grub like pupusas.....very affordable and tasty food.

Paladin on Des Meurons is great home cooking at very decent prices. Not a fancy place by far, but no one goes there for that!

Huh? There's got to be hundreds of places where you can get a meal for $15.00 or less.

What specifically are you looking for?

Home cooked meal in a restaurant? Do they cook the food at home and bring it to the restaurant to sell?

Or a restaurant where the cook sleeps on a cot in the kitchen....

Hmmm....try Siloam Mission.

Apparently they give out free food (that's under $15 right?)...all you have to do is show up and prove you're not trying to help society.

Haven't been to Alycia's lately, but have been told it isn't is good as it once was. Not unlike most of us on this forum.

My sons always seem to find an affordable supper....they come home!!!

I would PM DeanK and ask him if he has any of those great hot dogs and Crown Royal left!
If he has P.M. me and I will pick you up and break into his house!

If you want really good home cooking, there is a place on Ellice Av one block east of Arlington, across from the Chicken Delight. They have a 2-piece chicken and fries deal for only $2.49. You can't go wrong!

Heh heh Does the restaurant scoot out the back door, run across the street, and pick up a Chicken Delight meal?
