Anyone who uses violence or threats against a general populace would be considered terrorists.

Had I been in the line of traffic, and been by myself (ie. no family with me), and knew why traffic was stopped...I would've driven through the barricades and told the idiots to go screw themselves. (Of course I would prefer to be in my Tractor Trailer at the time).

The use of threat is only as good as the intent on using it. Playing to the fears of the public only proves those terrorists have no dignity or honour of their own. Had even one person driven through the barricade and challenged the threat...it would have ended the siege in one way or another. Either those idiots would become murderers, and be wiped out...or the public would realize what ninnies the terrorists are...and never take them seriously again.

We live in a country where we are allowed to protest what we want, albeit violence and overthrow of the government. We can openly protest the war in Afghanistan, taxes, the price of bread of whatever we want, but we have to do it within the boundaries of a civilized society. These people fled whatever injustices they felt they were being handed in Sri Lanka and came to the safety, security and peace of Canada, yet they have somehow resolved themselves that it is their right to disrupt the rest of us in our daily lives. Organize your protest, take it to the steps of Parliament, march down the street with banners and flags, I'm sure that the police will even provide an escort for your safety in traffic and from others who do not share your views, but don't, DON'T take to these terror tactics of disrupting the rest of us. Don't hide behind some perverted sense that it is your duty to coerce, intimidate or bully anyone else to take up your cause. If you can't work within the framework of the civilized society to which you fled, then get the hell out.

I may disagree with what you say, but I will fight to the death to protect your right to say it.

I don't get it. If the Toronto Tigers are so committed to the Tamil cause, why didn't they stay in Sri Lanka and fight for what they believe. Ub they ran away to the safety that Canada provides and expect eveyone else to take up their cause. Maybe there just isn't popular support for their cause. Maybe they're on the wrong side.
