What is the hang up regarding having sex, as compared to European attitudes? Where does the "holier than thou" attitude come from? Is it religious nutcases, or just right wing Christian nutcases. Read the papers, John Kennedy, Bill Clinton, John Edwads wife in a story below

Maybe it's because things are actually getting better in that regard in the US. Until fairly recently, homosexuality was illegal in many states. Now homosexuality has become socially accepted in most if not all large cities north of the Bible Belt, and the issue of homosexual marriage is seriously being discussed. It's not long since that weren't even remotely possible. So the more vocal noise in sexual matters we all see now may just be a reaction to that... a sort of panic. They know they're losing the battle and therefore feel the need to be more vocal about it. There's no need to go nuts over homosexuality when it's illegal and socially unaccepted anyway.

Is it truly socially accepted? Or is it yet another one of those topics that people cant voice their true feelings on else (especially politicians) they be shunned?

It's still a bit like that, so of course it's not totally socially accepted. But it's unarguably much better than it was just a few decades ago. Social norms change slowly.

I dunno... I can only speak for Northern-Europe (Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark), but here homosexuality is completely socially acceptable.

People who have a problem with homosexuality are laughed at. They're not even shut up or accused of hate speech, they're just laughed at, whether in politics or anywhere else.

That's the way it should be, in my opinion.

Wow...so much speculation...so little reason.

At any rate...the problem in Rosie's article is NOT about sex..it's about adultery. It's about a man who had made a life commitment to someone, and then violated that promise. It's about a man who, once the cheating was discovered, made no effort to save his family because he was too distracted with "fame & glory".

And yet he wanted the people to trust him...when his own wife couldn't?

"Faithful" - "Consenting adults"- keep the personal private things to ones self! The problem is that anyone even cares about "faithful", when men are kown to think with their "dicks"!
A beautiful woman gets whats his name? .......... insert any of the 100,000 unfaithful lying, lyars, names here.......... and the papers make a big deal out of it here and in USA, while in other European or Asian countries it is the norm!!

I have no problem with consenting adults. But his wife wasn't consenting.

He made a promise to her NOT to cheat...and he broke that promise...plain and simple.

If she tells him "hey...go ahead...do whatever turns your crank"...then sure, let him go do whoever suits him...but that's not what happened.

It's not what happened in Clinton's case either.

And then to top it off, they both tried to cover it all up and hide it.

I'd have more respect for them if they said "hey...here's my wife, here's my girlfriend, and her...she's $50/hour"...but they don't.
