She totally should go to jail.. you know I can see a frustrated parent throwing a kid into a bassinet.... but there is no god damn way those injuries were caused how she says they were caused... no god damn way at all.

I don't think she should go to jail. What would that accomplish? The punishment of living with what she's done is way worse than being locked up. She is not a danger to the public. I doubt she will harm her other children. Make her attend counseling and monitor her with her children for a while.

Because jail is not just about rehabilitation. Its also about punishment. She should not be allowed to be near anyone under 18 ever again in her life.

Nope. She dont care, she is just a very good actor in my opinion. If she really cared she would have killed herself by now.

It's not much different than that drunk bozo letting his kids freeze to death last year. There was a notion that he would have to live with the knowledge that but for his drunken actions his kids would be alive. Seems he's been drinking since. And he has another child.

Nope. Jail is called for. A life was lost. And it was no accident.

Sad story. The Criminal Code provides for mitigation of sentencing when post partum depression is a factor.

I am in no way defending what she did, but the effects of post partum depression, sleep deprivation and the massive stress of dealing with 3 newborns is incredible. Been there, done that, but survived, as did my kids. They have hair, I don't.

Actually, we had about 80 hours a week for a while. We had overnight help as the boys, being premature, were feeding about every 3 to 4 hours, so there wasn't much time for sleep. (They still seem to be on that schedule, but at least they can feed themselves, most of the time)

Again, I'm not defending, its just that I can appreciate the situation.

Whatever, it still takes a very special person to abuse a newborn baby....nevermind the mother doing it.

Here's a person that should be kept away from children and pets imo.

My wife was recovering from surgery.

This woman also had an older child so the situation is similar to ours. Again, no defence for outright abusive behaviour, but an understanding of how easy it is to make a mistake.

yes exactly a mistake of throwing the kid in the bassinet.. no doubt... but this childs injuries were not caused by throwing the kid in the bassinet as she claims.. no freakin way.

Thats what the jury will have to determine in their sentencing. While a conviction of Manslaughter can be found even if there was no intent, the sentence will certainly indicate how they interpreted the facts.
