bus driver seen runing with pants rond his legs as bus is stolen

i herd sirens tonight so tuned into the local scanner and found to my surprize a transit bus got hijacked and is curently sitting at mountan and main.....

naa he was a driver the left the bus for his safty and the theif drove off and wound up getting away

Stolen bus highlights busy night for police

It was a busy night for Winnipeg police, which included a report of a stolen transit bus.

At about 2 o'clock Wednesday morning, a passenger on a bus in the area
of Main Street and James Avenue got into an argument with the driver.
It ended with the driver leaving the bus, at which point the suspect
got behind the wheel and drove off.

Police say the bus was found, undamaged, a few minutes later. The suspect had fled.

No one else was on the bus at the time.

Police are looking through security tape footage to try to identify the suspect.


No one was injured in an armed robbery at a video store in the 1300
block of Main Street earlier in the night. The robber, armed with a
knife, made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.


Police say they received a lot of calls in general through the night.

if the full moon would have hit Monday sure.. but its going down now... next full moon, now that the weather is nice is going to be crazy busy for cops. its a saturday and its going to be warm after a crazy long winter...

The culprit was described as _ _ _ _ _ _ in appearance...

I thought I recognized him.....watched Twilight the other day....but I do not believe he is our culprit....hahahah....probably that person comes from around the Dufferin projects.....what a wasteland that place is....

CBC news at 5 ( whats up with that?? ) reports that the bus drivers union is calling for shields and panic alarms in all buses.
Seems like a pretty reasonable request to me... expensive yeah... but pretty damn reasonable.

Likely a hockey game on at 6...

Surprising they have not installed those years ago. I thought all buses had phones? Installing panic buttons should be quite simple, and relatively inexpensive. Shields? Likely very expensive.

yeah.. why cab drivers have them.. but not bus drivers? Seems high time we install them

plus then maybe we can get round the clock bus service

Its just another commentary on the ways things go today. Why assault the guy thats driving you home? Its not like they carry money anymore, so whats the point, other than to be a complete and utter waste of oxygen.

Cause cab drivers have their own doors to escape through should the vehicle be in an emergency situation.

Putting a shield around the driver would simply create another hazard, unless the bus was redesigned so the driver has his own entrance.

A panic button would be something simple...and ideally activated by pushing it with a foot...so it could be secretly activated by the driver easier.
