Romani's Pizzeria on Pembina Highway is the very bestest fried chicken in Winnipeg.

Chinese-style deep fried chicken is pretty darn awesome. I do like country-style once in a while, but I can go without.

The BEST fried chicken I ever had was from a vendor on the street of my apartment in Thailand. It was fantastic stuff that had a spicy undertone and it was just packed full of flavour. He fried it fresh throughout the morning and early afternoon and would sprinkle fried shallots over the breast pieces. Wow! That and a fresh bag of sticky rice and I was all set for breakfast! (No wonder I didn't lose any weight in Thailand, eh?)

I am not a fried chicken fan. I rarely eat it but according to my Dad Thunderbird on McPhillips makes some tasty fried chicken.

Chicken Chef depends on the location. I've had a couple of dud locations. West Portage and a couple locations out of town were pretty good though.

Anyone know any good broasted chicken locations?

Have I mentioned Swiss Chalet was returning?

Actually, I had a real nice broasted chicken at Joey's on Kenaston today. Very tasty indeed.

Now here's a topic I can sink my teeth into - having just picked up a 15pc family bucket from KFC. Aside from it being just habit - it's probably the worst fried chicken out there - since they changed the frying oil a few years ago after the trans-fat public awareness/exposure. It just isn't the same anymore - kind of a sickening taste to it now. Chicken Delight is better but not by much. I'm waiting for this forum to declare a winner so I can get back to what I used to know/like fried chicken for. From what I've had over the last few years from the usual's - Shake'n Bake in my own oven is better.

Oh yes, I am awaiting the Chalet. Hitting them up at the airport in the past couple of years was weird. ( Along with Harvey's )

We went to Joey's in St James and although the fish was good the whole meal was pretty boring. Free Press' writer gave it a really good write-up. That is the only reason we went there, because my wife did not enjoy it before.
I enjoyed it, but forgot that they have chicken. I should have ordered the chicken?
