Besides the crappy show they bring to Winnipeg compared to other shows.... this little links tells me its a bad idea

Not that I could ever afford good enough seats for it to be a problem for me.

That interests me not in the least. Waste of money IMO.

While I like country music and would really like to own a pick up truck, monster truck shows have no appeal. If you want to see pick up trucks going fast and leaping over things, just go to Portage La Prairie on Friday night.

I'm sorry but polluting my lungs with carbon monoxide, putting my hearing in jeopardy (let alone my life) and paying to do so is not something I really look forward to doing.

So 'the pits' at Daytona are out of the question eh? Laughing

No been in the pits with the big ear gear, my main concern is the noxioius fumes that the drivers of these monster trucks put forth with no concern. I have many years ago been to monster truck rallies at the MTS Centre as well as at the old Arena and have been in the pits there as well and nothing has changed. As long as these guys are making money off you, they don't care. If they did then the ownership of the monster truck that killed that little boy would have immediately set up some sort of trust for the family or paid for all expenses ASAP.

A young boy was killed recently at such a show.

I would totally go to a monster truck show at the Stadium...but the noise inside the arena and the exhaust is just too much and I used to ride around in a Plymouth grand fury with a cracked muffler, and missing hanging joints... sounded like a sykorsky 101 when sitting at a stop sign at idle.

I took my son once - ear defenders would be a good idea. I wouldn't want to sit in the front 50 or so rows either.

yea it is pretty loud. But I used to race snowmobiles semi - pro and being on the track or directly track side in an arena is damn near deafing! So the noise didn't bother me that much. But the ave. person would find it uncomfortable.

The noise may not bother you but it will damage your hearing. Permanently.

How is it crappier in Winnipeg compared to other Canadian cities?

FR, different incident, if you read down to the middle of the article there also was a little boy killed in Tacoma Washington by flying debris that came off of a monster truck. The promoter that was killed was from the Madison WI show. So 2 reasons not to go, especially consiering the lack of respect shown for the little boy who was killed. At least at the Madison incident, they cancelled the Sunday show, but at the Tacoma incident, they didn't even stop the show that was going on nor did they cancel the next day's shows, they continued and most of the people attending ended up walking out because of the lack of concern for the families of the injured and the deceased little boy. All they did was offer refunds for those who did not want to go after this happened.

Well, the alcohol at a monster truck show may be tempting, but I'm still not going. :party 005:
